Professional Experiences

  • Professional Experience in the processing and examination of animal tissues for transmission electron microscopy, Scanning electron microscopy, and freeze- fracture techniques.

  • Good technical experience in microtomy, ultratomy as well as cryostat sectioning.

  • Professional experience in histochemistry and immunohistochemistry both at the light microscopic and electron microscopic level.

  • Dr. Marei had got a professional experience in the application of E learning and blended learning at the level of  Egyptian Veterinary Medical Collages during his work as a project manager for one of the HEEPF projects. (2005-present).

  • Currently Dr. Marei is preparing and developing distance learning resources (CD_ROM, multimedia presentations and web sites for three image-based (Histology, Pathology and Radiology) Veterinary courses. With an ultimate objective to establish distance learning resources the entire veterinary curricula (about 27 preclinical and clinical courses).

  • Dr. Marei maintain and practice consultancy to many staff members in many  Egyptian universities   concerning the application and implementation of e and blended learning for enhancement teaching of the entire veterinary medical courses.

  • Professional experience in the application of Learning Content Management System (LCMS) and establishment of online courses for the first time in the field of veterinary medical curriculum.

  • Good Knowledge of computer work (Window XP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adob Photoshop, Flash, Animation, 3D Studio, Java, web design, LCMS (ATutor, Moodle, WebCT, Internet and others).

  • Professional usage of overhead projector, slide projectors, slide projecting microscope, closed TV circuits and data show for teaching the course of Cytology and Histology.

  • I have made my own full sets of overhead lantern slides that include more than 900 slides covering the finest details for the structure of most cell, tissues and body systems.

  • Dr. Marei had participated in managing and coordination of the electron microscope Research unit in Varginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, Virginia  Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA (1992-1994).

  • Dr. Marei own his private set of microscopic glass and Lantern slides the cover all body cells, tissues and systems using different stains (H&E, Masson’s trichrome, PAS, Alcian Blue, Van Gioson’s, Reticulin, Best;s carmine and others).

  • Professional in application of e-learning and development of distance learning programs for medical and veterinary medical student.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

  • Presentation in City Information Center about challenge facing the new biology such as cancer and viral diseases (December 2001).

  • Presentation in City Information Center about gene therapy and genetic engineering (July 2002).

  • Many articles in local journal about the role of Veterinary Medicine in community service.

  •  He own a private Poultry Diagnostic Lab. serving for consultancy, planning and problem solving in Egyptian poultry industry.
